A choice that goes against the grain
When industrial production began to take over, bringing with it modern promises of easy surfaces and rapid manufacturing, Luciano and his son Maurizio looked at that race and chose a different path: they stayed with wood and brought it to the beaches, serving the first beach establishments of Versilia and Costa Smeralda. Not out of nostalgia, but as a choice that left a mark—creating a piece that is recognizable, understated, and functional.
The Regista was born this way and became a symbol: practical, foldable, essential, yet carrying an idea of luxury that has nothing to do with excess.
An authentic tradition to preserve
Over the years, Piastri 1961 has continued to uphold the principles of craftsmanship and Made in Italy without reducing them to a label: authenticity, timeless charm, and consistency.
Protecting one of the last expressions of an authentic tradition, deeply rooted in the territory and part of its identity, had become almost necessary. Driven by this, three local entrepreneurs took up this story with a clear objective: to preserve and relaunch a craft excellence without betraying its heritage.
This means bringing order, introducing efficiency where needed, improving continuity. The processes have been modernized, but the essence remains intact: structures crafted and finished by hand, one by one; fabrics sewn by expert seamstresses; materials selected with care; customization as a defining trait.
From request to delivery: a single thread
Today, the company is a complete, self-contained universe, offering a fully bespoke service by managing every phase in-house: from initial request to design, from customization to production, through to final delivery. It is a rare way of working: it requires control, continuity, and meticulous attention to detail. But above all, it requires craftsmanship.
Every grain is different.
And the way we follow it.
Where are Piastri 1961 products made?
Every piece is created in the workshop: from the wooden structure to the finishes, through to the final inspection. It is a way of working that prioritizes continuity and care, because what truly lasts cannot be delegated to anonymous steps.
What does craftsmanship mean to you?
It means doing one thing at a time, with precision: structures finished one by one, attention to surfaces, respect for the material. It is not a “rustic” aesthetic, but a method: measurement, control, and responsibility for the result.
Is it possible to customize products and finishes?
Yes. Customization is part of our production approach: wood finishes, colors, fabrics, and details can be defined based on the location and use. The goal is to align the object with the context, without distorting its form.
Do you also handle complete projects, beyond individual products?
Yes. We can accompany a project from start to finish: from the initial request to defining finishes and fabrics, from production through to delivery. Whether it is a private setting or a hospitality venue, the criterion remains the same: consistency and care.
